This course focuses on providing a standardized approach to negotiations for all employees. Students will learn BATNA, ZOPA, key negotiation strategies and tactics. They will also be provided the ability to identify counterpart’s positions vs. interests and actively apply framing techniques to better position themselves with leverage during the negotiation. A custom Strategic Training Endeavor’s negotiation planner will be utilized. Students will develop problem solving techniques to maximize the value in their negotiations. The negotiations will focus on internal vs. external, one on one, and multi-party negotiations. The negotiation case studies utilized in class would focus on intercompany negotiations for project resources, internal conflict, & negotiating externally with suppliers & customers.

This course focuses on two aspects of communication both verbal and written (EMAIL, procedures, corrective actions, A3s, etc.) and both internal and external communications. The course discusses the different forms of communication methods (email, phone, video conferencing, & in person) and analyzes the non-verbal as well as verbal communication pitfalls. The final capstone project for this course will be an assignment of an SOP for each group to work through to actively apply course learnings in improvement of current procedures. This will not only provide students with the opportunity to learn but will actively improve current company procedures.

The problem solving course focuses on utilization of the six step problem solving model: 1.) Define the problem 2.) Determine the root cause(s) of the problem 3.) Develop alternative solutions 4.) Select a solution 5.) Implement the solution 6.) Evaluate the outcome. Students will be expected to come with a problem that can be worked through this process. A portion of the class will focus on the effects of temporary and permanent countermeasures and impact / effort analysis. In addition, there will be a module of this course that focuses on coaching people through this process & how to create a company culture that embraces problem solving through reinforcement of project success.

This course is on Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management. In this course, we would focus on a few different topics which would include: Basic Supplier Management, Reporting / Data Analytics, Performance Management (Scorecards, Business Reviews), Risk Management, Creating a Project Pipeline (cost, kaizens, etc), and Strategy development & implementation. This course is a working session so that at the completion of the course, the Supplier Management function has a strategy developed including actions for reporting / data analytics, supplier monitoring through performance management, and an overall strategy.

This course focuses on what is leadership. Topics to be covered in this program include an assessment of leadership style. Focus on coach approach to leadership and how to motivate teams for success. Hands on coaching scenarios and conflict management resolution would be worked through in the course. In addition, focus would be on Emotional Intelligence. Students would all have pre-work to complete emotional intelligence inventory (ESCI). In addition, the ISE Influence Strategies Exercise would be completed to review how these leaders influence their teams and to identify areas of issue.

The course focuses on lean principles and value stream mapping tools both current state and future state through the combination of class lecture, discussion, and small group work. The Effective Communication & Technical Writing course could easily be paired with this course project. In the course project, students would be developing a current state value stream map of a process and then working to lean out non value added (waste) steps.

The project management model focuses on DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. Class lecture would focus around breaking down the DMAIC into each step. Concepts and small group work would be conducted during the course. Students work through the DMAIC process on an assigned project either individually or in a small group setting. We address key project management concepts, standardized tools, and project risk (how to keep projects from being derailed) as well as other practical leadership concepts for project management.

The Leadership Academy would be a program focused on developing the succession pipeline of talent to close the gaps between individual contributor and management roles. It would consist of a 12 month process where there were different leadership topics addressed 1 day per month for 12 months duration. This would be a certificate program where after completion of the 12 month time period, attendees were provided a certificate of completion. Individual sessions would include but not be limited to the following topics:

The Emotional Intelligence course focuses on people’s understanding of both their own emotions as well as those of others to help guide behaviors and further the soft skills behind leadership. In this course focus will be taken on perceiving, using, understanding, and managing emotions and behaviors to be more successful in business, negotiations, and relationship management. In this course we will use an Emotional Intelligence assessment that will allow students the ability to put together strategies to actively address and improve their self-awareness, self -management, social awareness, and relationship management.

In this ever changing environment and global world that we live in we are consistently needing to break down barriers to business. In this International Business course, we will look at concepts around culture, language, and time zone barriers to improve our abilities to work globally. We will focus on how you prepare to work globally, what are some tools that you have at your disposal to ensure business success.

The costs of hiring a bad employee continue to skyrocket. In this course we look at the overall cultural fit of the employee and focus on the STAR method of interviewing to ensure that the hiring manager / company has a good understanding of the behaviors that this employee possesses and how they will best fit into the company culture. This customized approach pairs both situational experiences that they’ve had in the past as well as how the company assesses their critical thinking skills for how the prospective employee would approach prospective situations if they were awarded the role.
